FIRST TERM ACTIVITIES IN 3r AND 4rt OF PRIMARY

 This year students from year 3 and 4 have been doing a lot of activities. 

We think that everybody should express how they feel and know the differences between them. We learnt the feelings and they made a wheel to know how they can feel in the different situations. 

After that, we celebrate Halloween and we talked about the traditions in other countries. As everybody knows pumpkins are the traditional element so we made a pumpkin bag to put all the sweetie treats inside.

We also watched a Halloween film called “The haunted house” that we really enjoyed.

Another traditional day is thanksgiving, where people used to spend time together eating turkey and giving thanks to all the things they have. In class we talked about that day and wrote all the things we were thankfully.

To improve our reading and motivate kids to read in english we spent the last 15 minuts of some days to read and see some english books. 

 

In SCIENCE we talked about the matter and one of the questions in the class that really surprised me was if the air has weight so obviously I had to show them with an experiment.

Also we studied a lot of new things of the parts of the body and now we know a lot of new vocabulary words. We have done an activity to remember the five senses and the parts of the face and another to know the skeleton.

 Is easy to remember new things if we have fun learning. So we studied the ecosystems and to realize if we really understand everything we made an ecosystem flower with the main characteristics of each one.

 

 

Finally, Christmas is our favorite time of the year. We prepared a special video singing to all parents due to this atypical situation. Hope you love it!

We also wrote a letter to Santa Claus and learnt a Christmas poem. 

FIRST TERM ACTIVITIES. CM

The year 3 and 4 students have been very busy this first term.

Halloween was a great opportunity to discover many different spooky and funny traditions. We learnt some interesting vocabulary and analyzed the “Nightmare before Christmas” film.

We also had lots of fun, knocking door to door, scaring our classmates!

Science is also a great chance to focus on many different aspects, which we don’t usually do. Therefore, we studied the different parts of our faces, focusing on the smallest parts and learning their names. We’ve learned words like eyebrows, chin or cheek.

Experiments are so exciting! And we also love manipulating different elements, testing hypothesis and discovering what the results are.

Did you know our fingerprints are unique in the whole world? This means that each and every one of us is unique and special. Here you can see us experimenting with paint and our fingerprints.

Playing is one of the best ways to learn. Here you can see us playing with a grammar game while enjoying ourselves.

We have been working on a project where we had to compare the past and the future. This was a great moment to find some pictures of our parents and grandparents at our age and compare the clothes they were wearing with the clothes we wear nowadays. How interesting!

Singing is also one of our favorite activities. Therefore, we learn a new song on every unit and sing it every day before starting the lesson.

Finally, Christmas is one of our much loved times of the year. So, we have been preparing a surprise for our families, as well as learning an English Christmas poem to say to the family on Christmas day. We hope you enjoyed it!

Year 4

ENGLISH ACTIVITIES IN YEAR 4

This school year the 4th graders have been learning lots of English while enjoying with many fun activities!

Here you have some examples of what we did:

-We went to the theatre to watch an English play. We even had to help the actors and actresses to have a happy ending!

-        -  We also did the Cambridge Exams. We were a bit nervous, but we did it really well!

-We invented a whole play! We decided the plot, wrote the script, rehearsed and act it out. You can’t imagine how much you learned and how funny it was.

 -We have written our own magazine! With lots of different sections such as News, Sports, Animal facts, Funny world, Games & crosswords, comics... Do you want to read some of it?

Apart from all this, we have also learnt many things with a Science project about Australia, a very special country. Besides, Sarah and Hanna, our conversation assistances, have played many games with us, in order to put into practice what we learn in class. Finally, we participated on a Photo Contest.
